Hmmph.

I feel like artists don’t get enough love. I mean, “ooo pretty” as a tag is nice, but what about an Ask or comment saying what you like about their work?

It’s quite possible that I’m influenced in thinking this because Shibara is going to post a thing, and I’m betting there will be maybe one actual reblog where a comment is added. She needs more “good artist!” pat-patting in her life. [pat-pats Shibara]

See, I actually stopped commenting on art I reblog (unless it was made for me especially) because of all the posts that used to go around saying things like, “Compliments belong in the tags; don’t clog up the post with your stupid comments.”  If artists would actually prefer comments to tags, I’m more than happy to do that.  I just didn’t know.

What? Is that seriously a thing? I…why? Obviously don’t delete an artist’s comments, but deleting comments from people who’ve reblogged it should be fine if you want to keep a post uncluttered. Do people really hate comments on art?

Comments in the tags don’t travel through reblogs, but I find them difficult to access and read. I guess I have a different perspective.

My opinion: I don’t care if it’s in the tags, on the post, in an ask, or written in the sky. If you have something nice or helpful to say about my art, please make sure I hear it!
