Freighter Vana Captain’s log
Day 382
M. Koril

Goodbye, Mol’Rihan! At last, Republic security has cleared us for departure. They have scoured every piece of the shuttle and guarded it every moment of the day and night. Tovan and I have gotten very little sleep, but it will be worth it to get off this planet and back into space.

He hasn’t said much to me, but there is a distance growing between us. I’m not sure what will happen when we get back to the Vana. I know that I can’t let this rest. Too many people have been hurt and killed. There is something bigger underneath all of this, I can feel it. I won’t sleep with both eyes closed until I know that it is ended. I also know that this is not the life he signed on for.

Sylon seems perfectly content to stay by my side, Tal Shiar or no. She has been giving me lessons with the bat’leth. I still wonder why she gave it to me on that first encounter, choosing to use a disruptor pistol over the traditional weapon of a Klingon warrior. Passing the weapon off to a total stranger, a Cardassian no less. But then, she does not seem to be traditional, any more than I.
