Big day for the snoot! She finally shed. I didn’t know for sure, but I was starting to get nervous that I could see her spine too much so I picked up her humid hide with her in it and moved her a little, and there was her old skin! It wasn’t the cleanest shed, all bunched up and there were a few loose pieces, but I had struggled to keep the humidity at a constant with the heaters going and the power issues this winter. I checked her over, and she didn’t seem to have any stuck, so that’s good! I fed her an adult m.ouse, and at first, she seemed more interested in exploring. But after a while, I checked back and she had it in her mouth. Oops! I left her alone to finish and later dropped the second one in for her. She ate without any problem. I freshened her enclosure while she was feeding (I moved her to a tub for feeding so she wouldn’t eat the substrate, I already had her out anyway to check for stuck shed) and she had pooped too. Very neatly, in a little pile, not in the water dish, not painted all over. I’ve never had such a tidy snake. I’m not sure if I should be worried or not? But I’m glad that she pooped!
She checked out the changes I made to her enclosure and went back to snoozing.

I gave her a new hide instead of the old temporary (snake-smushed) box she had. She spent one night in it, but has since moved to the humid hide. I don’t think she likes the new one much, but we’ll have to see after she sheds what she does.

“So you’re basically a person from the 23rd century with a bunch of history downloaded into your brain, but we’re going to give you a starship, a crew, and a bunch of missions anyway because we are in the middle of wars. Which you will also have to get caught up on. Sounds good?”
