if you were forced to run ahead of a train for years while someone systematically removed your limbs, and other people drove beside you yelling “come on, it’s not that difficult to keep going! stop being selfish!” wouldn’t you eventually think about just stopping and letting the train run you over? Especially if you hate trains?
