Trying to troubleshoot the modem yesterday, on the phone. My dialogue in bold.

“There should be three green lights on the front.”

“No, there are four.”

“Oh. Are you sure there aren’t five?”

“Noooo there are four. One is flickering.”

“That’s not right. There should be three and one should be flashing, or five.”

“There are four lights.”

“Are you sure you’re looking at the modem?”

“Yes.”

“Maybe you’re looking at the wrong lights.”

“I’m looking at the only lights there are on the front, and there are four of them.”

“You’re sure? Not three? Not five?”

“There are four lights.”

“…ok…try resetting everything. How many lights do you see?”

“I still see four.”
