We do have a big con is Austin. It’s gotten really popular and bigger and bigger each year. If you get a chance to stay here for sightseeing stuff, I can give you some places to go. Mainly in Houston, but it depends on where you’re at.

Ah cool, thanks! I’m closer to the Dallas/Fort Worth area at the moment, about to move to Missouri, but I may be coming back for a visit, and possibly going farther south this summer. My plans are pretty uncertain right now, but I will keep it in mind. I would love to get to some good cons in the near future!

have you done anything cool in Texas yet? besides get sick…

Not much on this trip. Everyone’s been sick, so there hasn’t been any sightseeing. I did almost wander into Mexico one night on the drive over (not really, but I did go for an unplanned walk less than a mile from the border). That was pretty cool. I got some great sunset photos.

I guess it’s been an adventure, the whole road trip, culminating in living in a teeny trailer with limited utilities. Ironically, I may not really do any cool stuff until after I move again, and come back for visits/going through my stuff in storage/possible cons.

there are horses right down my street.

There are nothing but crappy trailers on this street. Also a total stranger smiled at me.

that sounds about right

Now there are coyotes and/or drunk people and gunshots. I can’t tell if they’re shooting at the coyotes or they’re all just having some kind of wild party together. Also trains.

This is our backyard right now. It looked normal when I went to bed last night, and now all of this chaos. It’s not even that much snow, but it’s just enough that all the idiots around here forget how to drive and kill each other with their cars.
