I think Ulani’s eyes may have been brown? Also I have never had someone comment on my eye color at cons and I always play very blue eyed characters…but my eyes could not be more brown if they tried.I did one a cosplay a few years ago and bought heinously expensive hand-painted contacts from 9mmSFX… and had people point out they weren’t movie accurate -because they couldn’t be – it would be infringement to make an exact replica w/o licensing.
People will always find something to complain about if they are dead-set on complaining. But your cosplay isn’t for them, it’s for yourself and the majority of people that recognize your character, who will be absolutely delighted that you even attempted it.
I can’t wear colored lenses according to my eye doctor so I am medically stuck with brown eyes, I’m not compromising my vision to make a couple haters happy! There’s always photoshop for end-result pictures if I really want to go that route 🙂

My Black Widow suit arrived today.
When I did Romulan makeup for my sis, I just painted on the forehead ridges with shades of eyeshadow. Everyone thought they were sculpted, just shaded like a graphic art. Also HAVE FUN 😀 I wanna go too!!!!! That’s a really good idea! I might have to test that out later this evening (my eyeshadow/makeup stash in general is pretty limited — I powdered my face in green eyeshadow on Halloween while chanting I should’ve thought this through more — I maaaay be able to make it work though!)

If you can just shade the green or whatever your base makeup is slightly lighter and slightly darker, you’ve got it made 😀 Try mixing colors? I have a ton of different eyeshadows and makeups because I am slightly insane and I love doing alien makeup…but yeah it just takes three shades to make a ridge. One light, one dark, one medium.
AHHH I WISH I COULD GO. I’m a lot farther than Amarillo though. But yeee first cons are exciting! My first was a tiny con with no famous guests, and I only made it to one panel, but I loved it anyway.

Either could work, but brown would probably be more subtle xD I would go with leaving the light/high part of the ridge less green and more your natural skin color, and then shading the underneath/shadow part with more green and brown, and kind of making the middle a gradient, if that makes sense? And yeah ugh, the ear matching was always the toughest part for me. I like to hide the ear seam with wig LOL.
Experiment I guess ^^ find what works. I would love to see pictures of what you come up with!
