I just had a really…weird apocalyptic dream complete with wastelands and the sky turning dark and the only place the air was remotely breathable was Texas
(I guess because it was far enough away from whatever burned the sky) and a bunch of us took shelter in this…abandoned day spa thing? Sleipnir was there briefly. We were all trying to get somewhere, even though we were already in Texas. I think we were trying to get a signal through to some other survivors but there weren’t any mountains because Texas so we were trying to find a tall building. Mostly there was a lot of rubble and industrial canals.
There was a neighborhood where I bartered some…reptiles? for a boat? which turned into a fleet of cars so we could keep driving? And some kids who lived there were really excited about this. Also there were handmade posters up all around for some apocalypse band (which in my brain was a game texture that I’d seen in other houses and I suddenly realized I was in a video game). We drove off across what I am guessing was my brain’s interpretation of post-apocalyptic Central Texas.
Then we got captured by what was left of a church congregation and hoisted up like…200 feet above a pool. We could undo our harnesses but we probably would die…but I was like…heck I’m gonna take that chance. I dropped into the pool and everything went slow-motion and I heard my OWN VOICE doing a voice over something about “you know how when you’re born or when you die, everything seems to slow down?” like that’s a normal human experience everyone has memories of. And I could breathe underwater, and I just stayed down there for a while, enjoying being underwater.
Then I woke up.
