The chase
@aen-lliash
If you think about it, admiralty system assignments could be rough plot ideas.
Patrol outlying colonies with a reality-warping flux event? Sounds awfully like a Star Trek episode.
Support response to medical emergency with a pirate raiding party event? That actually could make sense.
I like some of the doff assignments and outcomes, too. Every now and then, I get one and think, “wow, that really sounds like something that crew/captain would actually do or encounter” or “TOO FUNNY I CAN NOT SEE THEM DOING THAT” when it’s some random Party On A Planet or something.
Miv keeps getting the Ambassador Tours the Ship one. Why so many ambassadors touring a random escort? It’s getting weird.

my computer can’t see the new lighting system. I don’t get the shiny yet. Gotta upgrade soon though. I can’t wait!

It looks super pretty ^^
Aw man I get that. You’ll see it soon!!!!
My little laptop manages okay with lighting 2.0 turned on, but it certainly isn’t like, 60 fpsit’s more like 20 fps
But oh man it’s so worth it imo. Especially as a person who prefers aesthetics over most everything else. I guess a high performance computer would be almost necessary if you’re interested in getting high DPS but why when you can go slowly and smell the roses, appreciate the details, see all the shiny, notice all the upside-down console graphics,
Yeah, mine meets the minimum requirements, but it…is literally held together with tape and overheats if I look at it wrong. Laptops, urgh. I’m saving up for a gaming desktop. Where I live, I need the fans. This has been the best graphics I’ve ever had though and I am loooovvvvving it. You should see the first screens I ever got, on my old old old computer that probably shouldn’t have even been STO compatible. They are HILARIOUSLY bad xD I lagged so much in those days I’m surprised I leveled at all. I was practically blind on missions.

Catching up with @aen-lliash
You can take the winter event from my cold, ice-similated hands.
Or when the event ends
The event never ends.
It is always winter.
Everything else is the illusion.
so is the unskippable new romulus intro cutscene just going to be come A Thing every time you beam down to the planet now
I was wondering the same thing, because I left Divina down there and keep forgetting that every time I log into her character, I will have to hear the “BUT WE NEED A LEADERrrr” speech again.
Also pretty sure I had already done all of the little Aid New Romulus tasks so why? Is? It? Making? Me? Do? Them? All? Over? Again? On? EVERYONE?
Did I miss something?
They added the Aid New Romulus tasks to the list of storyline missions (which makes sense, since they are kind of a necessary bridge into the Solanae Dyson Sphere stuff), which means that they gave them the “has the player done this storyline mission? if no, and they’ve done everything before it, bug them about it” behavior. And since you haven’t done it as a storyline mission…
UGH those too. It’s driving me nuts
I have 12 or 13 characters to do them all on (I can’t even remember how many I have. I’M A BAD MOM) and it feels so monotonous to re-run the little missions 12-13 timesIt’s bonus marks and XP, and it is true that they tie in quite closely to the Dyson missions, but…
I am t i r e d
Yeah that makes sense…just…yeahhhh…so many characters. So much scanning and picking flowers.
Good thing New Romulus is pretty.
Hehe thank you! Party onnn yes, there’s still a little over an hour left to my birthday!
immortalspark replied to your post “oh my god sto is lagging so badly (and i got on pretty early today,…”
I knowww I was on late last night and I couldn’t handle it, I was rubberbanding so bad, I was moving backwards.
I somehow managed to avoid rubberbanding! But in ground combat my weapons wouldn’t activate when I was within range of an enemy, but the enemy could definitely fire at me (and then the game would lag and I’d sit there and getting hit by a never-ending plasma beam owwie)
I had to just let my bridge officers do everything while I hid behind things LOL
LOL wow. I couldn’t even get a combat map to load, I was just trying to walk around the station. I barely got the game to load through all the server lag. I think I was on about 10 minutes trying to make it work. Pretty annoying. I’ve been off STO since before Christmas, and I still can’t play! I miss all of my fictional characters :c
