“I don’t like this, Sir.”
“Neither do I, Number One. But we can’t ignore the distress call.”

So this is what a real bridge is like.

I wonder what Captain Quincy is like. I wonder if there are any “other” Bajorans on board…or any Cardassians. I wonder if I’ll meet any Cardassians someday? What would that be like? What if I meet Borg? What if I forget Admiral Janeway’s tactics for fighting Borg? What if I don’t meet the Borg and I took that entire course for nothing and wasted time I could have spent in that Advanced Warp Theory class? My mind is racing again, I have to stop that. Calm down. I’m a first officer now! Calm. Sign in, then go to the bridge and report to the captain. Everything will be fine.

“Let me prove to you that I’m not a hologram!”
Echo is alarmed by this. Either this “future Echo” is not telling the truth about her identity, or even more disturbingly, in the future, something happens to change her from a hologram into a different form. She draws her phaser and looks at her doppelganger uncertainly.
“I’m sorry, I must have mis-heard you. Would you care to repeat that statement?”
I can’t believe it! My first assignment, and I am assigned to the USS Pioneer as first officer! Me, a cadet! It’s so exciting! Ok, so I am a little nervous…but look at this, it’s a real starship! I’m second in command of this…it’s overwhelming! Ok, I’ ve got to look official.
I’ve had some good times here. Some stressful ones, as well. But now, it’s time to finally be an Ensign, and serve on a real starship! Who knows where I will end up, and what adventures I will have?
I had my doubts about bringing Ti’el on this trade run, since Mol’Rihan isn’t exactly without dangers, but we were only planning to stay in the staging area. She was so eager to get off the ship for a while and see the new homeworld, so I let her come. How things escalated from a routine trading trip to fighting underground Tholians…I don’t know.

“It’s not the same for me. I’m not afraid to leave home, to explore. I don’t really have nostalgia for any particular holodeck circuitry.
-Captain Iris Echo

This…is a largely Bajoran crew…
I wonder whose idea that particular decor was?
No *snicker* no clue, Captain.
(my Trill bartender is an evil prankster headcanon accepted)

Captain’s log:
U.S.S. Splendid, Captain Cecil Killian reporting.
We managed to go to warp just before the Tal Shiar ship arrived. They gave a short pursuit before breaking off; our ship had a head start and superior speed to begin with. The fact that they tried at all tells me they were rather intent on the escape pod…
…
I’m needed in the cargo bay. Apparently our new guests are causing something of a stir.
