it is really difficult to get a picture of this little snoot, she’s very active at night when she is out of her hides and doesn’t sit still very long! (part of it is the spinning)
last night I was watching TV, she was moving a lot because it got really hot, and I think she was looking for someplace cool, so I opened her enclosure a crack to let it cool off and she slithered slowly out with just her head on the edge, looked at the TV screen, and just sat there for a while. I don’t know if she could see the flickering or if she was just enjoying the fresh air, but she seemed content to just sit there next to me. She moved out a little ways and wrapped around my arm. I didn’t grab at her, she just ate the day before and I didn’t want to stress her more but I just let her crawl on me for about a minute, and then guided her safely back into her enclosure and closed it back up.

tbh I think I’m more stressed about things than she is and she’s a pretty chill snake most of the time, but I’m playing it safe. I don’t want her to have to go through more than she has to, and I let her decide what she wants to do as much as possible. She’s eating, drinking, pooping, etc, seems more or less content despite this area’s crazy temperature fluctuations I’m trying to combat. For an animal with such visually disturbing issues, she’s so forgiving and mild-tempered. This world that created her does not deserve her.
