The realization of a lifelong dream is MERE HOURS AWAY thanks to kai-ni

I just got my moving trailer packed.

And I was so freaked out that I was taking a giant apartment-eating mountain of stuff with me but it turns out to just be an actually manageable mound. It’s still going to be a lot, but I was envisioning about three times more stuff for some reason and wondering how the hell it was going to work.

Granted I am leaving some stuff in storage, but it’s stuff like drawings from when I was five. I don’t really need those with me. The important stuff like cosplay and action figures fit just fine. And my bed, though I have no idea where the hardware went. That could make things interesting.

Now I just have one more day on the road and I am FREE to start a new life YAAY 😀

[Those triangle pillows on DS9 look so uncomfortable. I get that the Cardassian beds were terrible, but replicating a good pillow might have helped some]

Just looking at the damn things make my neck cramp up. I couldn’t figure out how the hell they were comfortable for the Cardassians. I’d think those long necks would need more support than that.

We do have a big con is Austin. It’s gotten really popular and bigger and bigger each year. If you get a chance to stay here for sightseeing stuff, I can give you some places to go. Mainly in Houston, but it depends on where you’re at.

Ah cool, thanks! I’m closer to the Dallas/Fort Worth area at the moment, about to move to Missouri, but I may be coming back for a visit, and possibly going farther south this summer. My plans are pretty uncertain right now, but I will keep it in mind. I would love to get to some good cons in the near future!

have you done anything cool in Texas yet? besides get sick…

Not much on this trip. Everyone’s been sick, so there hasn’t been any sightseeing. I did almost wander into Mexico one night on the drive over (not really, but I did go for an unplanned walk less than a mile from the border). That was pretty cool. I got some great sunset photos.

I guess it’s been an adventure, the whole road trip, culminating in living in a teeny trailer with limited utilities. Ironically, I may not really do any cool stuff until after I move again, and come back for visits/going through my stuff in storage/possible cons.
